Featuring three top drilling units, configurable 5-spindle drill heads, Siemens PLC control and optional grooving for standard and blind grooves, it is designed for repeat production of components from 400–1200 mm long and 200–305 mm wide, with a specified capacity of 600–800 pieces per hour.

Description

Danlist Through-Feed Drawer Drilling Machine Overview

The Danlist Through-Feed Drawer Drilling Machine is a custom-built production machine designed for automated drilling of drawer components in high-volume furniture manufacturing.

Manufactured by Danlist in Denmark, the machine combines through-feed workpiece handling, three top-mounted drilling units and Siemens PLC control to automate repetitive drawer drilling operations.

It is designed around drawer components from 200–305 mm wide and 400–1200 mm long, with configurable drilling heads allowing the machine to be specified around the required hole pattern and production process.

The machine can also be supplied with a grooving unit for standard grooves and blind grooves, or configured as a drilling-only machine depending on the application.

Specifications may vary according to the final custom machine configuration and drilling requirements.

Automated Through-Feed Drawer Drilling

The Danlist drawer drilling machine is designed to move components automatically through the drilling process, reducing the amount of manual positioning required between successive drilling operations.

A through-feed configuration is particularly suited to repeat drawer production where large quantities of similarly sized components require consistent drilling patterns before moving to subsequent manufacturing or assembly stages.

The confirmed production specification is 600–800 components per hour, subject to component dimensions, drilling pattern and final machine configuration.

Three Top Drilling Units for Drawer Production

The Danlist Through-Feed Drawer Drilling Machine is equipped with three drilling units positioned above the workpiece.

Each drill head uses a five-spindle configuration with 32 mm centres, supporting repeat drilling patterns required in drawer and furniture-component production.

The drilling-head arrangement can also be adapted to suit customer requirements, allowing the final machine specification to be matched to the drawer design and drilling pattern being produced.

Siemens PLC Control System

Machine operation is managed through a Siemens PLC control system, providing central control of the automated drilling process.

The PLC coordinates the programmed machine cycle, component movement and drilling operations through the production sequence.

For manufacturers producing repeat drawer components, this provides a controlled automated process rather than relying on repeated manual positioning and individual drilling operations.

Drawer Sizes and Production Capacity

The Danlist Through-Feed Drawer Drilling Machine is designed around components within the following confirmed size range:

  • Length: 400–1200 mm
  • Width: 200–305 mm

This makes the machine particularly relevant to manufacturers producing drawer sides and other narrow furniture components in repeated batches.

Production capacity is specified at 600–800 pieces per hour, although actual output will depend on component dimensions, drilling pattern, machine configuration and the wider production workflow.

Custom Drill-Head Configuration

Although the supplied specification uses five-spindle drill heads with 32 mm centres, the drilling arrangement can be configured according to customer requirements.

This allows PPM and Danlist to assess the required hole centres, component dimensions and drilling sequence when specifying the machine rather than forcing the production process around a fixed drilling-head layout.

This custom-machine approach is particularly useful where a manufacturer has an established drawer design or repeat component that needs to be produced at volume.

Optional Grooving for Drawer Components

The Danlist machine can be configured with a grooving unit for standard grooves and blind grooves as part of the drawer-production process.

This allows suitable drawer components to undergo drilling and grooving within the same production setup, depending on the selected machine configuration.

The machine can also be supplied as a drilling-only system where grooving is not required.

Compressed Air Requirements

The confirmed working air-pressure requirement for the Danlist Through-Feed Drawer Drilling Machine is 6–8 bar.

Before installation, the available compressed-air supply should be checked against the final machine configuration and the requirements of other equipment connected to the same system.

The final installation specification should be confirmed before delivery.

UK Installation, Operator Training and Technical Support

PPM can support the installation and commissioning of the Danlist Through-Feed Drawer Drilling Machine in the UK, together with operator training and technical guidance for the selected machine configuration.

Before installation, PPM can also review practical requirements including machine positioning, component flow, compressed-air supply and integration with the surrounding drawer-production process.
